ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jeremiah Patterson is a distinguished professor of foundational painting and drawing with over twenty years of distinguished teaching experience. His artwork has been featured in over one hundred prestigious shows, exhibitions, museums, and private collections worldwide, including the Marche d’Acqua 2020 in Italy. Jeremiah’s watercolor mastery is matched by his ability to teach in this medium.

Join master artist Tyler Berry for an exploration of the human figure in this intensive workshop designed to elevate your drawing skills and understanding of anatomy. Under Tyler's expert guidance, attendees will learn the block-in stage, focusing on dynamic gesture and weight, followed by the meticulous process of modeling and rendering form. Students will receive individualized instruction and critiques. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting your journey, all skill levels are welcome, though some drawing experience is encouraged.

Join us with instructor Veronique Fournier-Wynne in Oil Painting Still Life & Mastercopy with new dates this Spring. Learn to paint realistically with the oil paint medium. Everyone will work at their own pace, allowing both beginners and experienced painters to join. You can paint a still life arrangement or paint a mastercopy portrait.

Please join us on Saturday, May 18 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to learn the traditional, indigenous craft of making baskets from folded pine bark! You will learn to harvest, cut, fold, shape, and sew the bark, before completing your container by attaching a rim. Everyone will take home a distinctive container, along with the knowledge and templates for future projects!

The Wethersfield Academy for the Arts thanks Ken Goshen for a successful workshop in January. Painting the Bread Loaf was a unique and delicious workshop that embarked on a journey to capture the humble yet captivating beauty of a bread loaf. Ken's thorough guidance taught students the essentials of working with oil and achieving realism from still-life.

The Wethersfield Academy for the Arts thanks Chelsea Bard for an amazing workshop series: In Depth: Portrait Drawing From Life. Chelsea offered an immersive exploration of the use of dry media to convey character and energy. Students learned to work with a live model and received individual instruction and critiques from Chelsea herself along the way.
